FORT WORTH--The TCU men's golf team has earned recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America for its work in the classroom, as the squad has been named to the organization's All-Academic Team for the 2011-12 season. Only teams with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better received the honor.

The Horned Frogs were one of 68 NCAA Division I squads included on the All-Academic Team list. In addition to TCU, four other Big 12 squads were also recognized: Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma.

As a group, men's golf ranks as one of TCU's most successful programs in the classroom, having combined for a 3.14 GPA during the 2011-12 fall and spring semesters. Nine of the 15 student-athletes on the roster compiled at least a 3.0 GPA, including graduated senior Johan de Beer, who exceeded a 3.5.
