TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week
Dec. 14, 2016 FORT WORTH, Texas -- Jordan Moore of women's basketball and Jalen Miller of men's track and field have been named TCU's Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week based on impressive performances last week.
Moore, a native of Round Rock, Texas, tied her career-high with 16 points against Texas A&M to kick off the week, also adding five rebounds and a block in the game. Moore recorded 11 points with six rebounds and three blocks in TCU’s win over McNeese State, a team that has played postseason basketball in six straight seasons, by a margin of 74-70. The sophomore now has 71 career blocks, which ranks fourth in program history.
The TCU women's basketball team will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 18, as they host Texas Southern. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. inside the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena.
In his first meet in Purple and White and his first race since 2015, Miller blazed to a 6.68 finish in the 60-meter dash, placing first at the season opener in College Station. The Tunica, Miss., native sat out last year due to injury, but he did not miss a beat in his return to the track. The Horned Frogs got an early start to the 2017 season, and Miller's 60 meter time currently leads the nation.
The track and field teams will compete next on Friday, Jan. 20, as they head back to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational.
