TCU Qualifies Three On Day Two In Austin

AUSTIN, Texas – The TCU men’s and women’s track and field team qualified for three finals at the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, presented by Spectrum, in Austin, Texas, on Friday.
Sophomore Lexi Aitken competed in the 400-meter hurdle finals and took home seventh place behind a sub-minute time of 59.02.
Sophomore Brittney Trought led off the day with a wind-aided time of 13.36 (w+3.8) in the 100-meter hurdles. Trought recorded the sixth-fastest qualifying time and will compete in the 100 hurdle finals at 2:17 p.m. on Saturday.
Junior Jalen Miller also took advantage of a strong tailwind as he cruised to a 10.22 (w+4.3) finish in the 100-meter dash prelims. Miller won the first heat with ease and qualified for the finals with the fourth-fastest time of the day. Miller will compete in the 100-meter finals at 3:18 p.m. on Saturday
TCU’s 4x400-meter relay quartet of junior Tiffany Terry, sophomore Kayla Heard, Aitken and freshman Jaden Davis produced a qualifying time of 3:41.01. The squad’s effort was good for the fourth-fastest qualifying time, and they will take part in the 4x4 finals at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Junior Briona Oliver took home fifth-place in the women’s long jump. Oliver saved her best jump for last, recording a distance of 19 feet 2 inches (5.84 meters).
The Horned Frogs will wrap up competition in Austin on Saturday.
