Two School Records Fall in Tucson

Senior Brianna McGhee surpassed the program record in the 100-meter hurdles for the second-straight week as she crossed the finish line in 13.16 seconds. Her time ranks sixth in the NCAA this season.
Freshman Fellan McGuigan also extended his TCU hammer throw all-time best after recording a mark of 211 feet, 6 inches (64.47m). McGuigan's effort is currently the best in the Big 12 this year.
In the women's hammer throw, junior Paola Miranda logged a mark of 189 feet, 10 inches (57.86m), placing first. Miranda has earned three first-place finishes so far this season.
The Horned Frogs swept both the men's and women's long jumps. Junior Makaila Flannigan took care of her event with a career-best distance of 20 feet, 1.75 inches (6.14m). Sophomore Scotty Newton jumped to No. 7 on the all-time list with his first-place mark of 25 feet, 5.25 inches (7.75m).
Newton also set a career-best in the triple jump as he flew to a mark of 52 feet (15.85m).
In the women's discus, senior Megan Smith recorded a winning mark of 163 feet, 6 inches (49.85m).
Junior Adam Damadzic threw for a career-best mark of 185 feet, 2 inches (56.44m) in the men's discus, placing second.
Taking silver in the 400 meters was senior Joshua Washington as he clocked in at 46.58.
The Frogs will have an off week before returning to action on Saturday, April 22 at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
