McGuigan Opens Meet WIth Bronze

AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore Fellan McGuigan kicked off the action for TCU at the Longhorn Invitational with a third-place finish in the hammer throw at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Friday afternoon.

McGuigan secured bronze with a distance of 208 feet 9 inches (63.63 meters) on his fifth attempt. All six of McGuigan's attempts surpassed the 60-meter mark. Sophomore Justin Sanchez also earned a spot in the finals, placing eighth with a mark of 187 feet 2 inches (57.06 meters). Between the two, they logged of seven points for the Horned Frogs to start the meet.

A full day of competition is still in store for the Frogs on Saturday. Running events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will run until 3:30 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relay. Live results are available via PT Timing.
