Bozmans Earns Postgraduate Scholarship

FORT WORTH -- Raymond Bozmans of TCU track and field has been selected to receive the 2016-17 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarship, the Big 12 Conference announced Tuesday. Bozmans was one of only 20 athletes in the Big 12 to receive the scholarship, alongside fellow Horned Frog Kelly McGovern of women's golf.

Bozmans, a native of Fort Collins, Colo,. is a three-time All-American, earning First-Team honors as part of the 4x100 relay in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Bozmans is currently looking to add a fourth All-America honor at the 2017 NCAA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. In addition to being a staple on the men's track and field team, Bozmans has consistently produced in the classroom. He has earned Academic All-Big 12 recognition every year at TCU, and will graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Criteria for the awards includes a cumulative grade point average of 3.200 on a 4.000 scale, participation in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at the nominee's respective institution and completion of athletics' eligibility. The student-athletes also must graduate from their respective member institutions within 15 months of their selection for a postgraduate scholarship and are expected to enroll in graduate/professional schools within two years of graduation.
