TCU Downs the Dons

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 35 TCU men's tennis team extended their winning streak to four straight with a 6-1 victory over San Francisco on Saturday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs (5-2, 0-0 Big 12) easily took the doubles point against the Dons (3-4, 0-0 WCC) and were victorious in five of the six singles matches to clinch the win.
Arnau Dachs and Trey Daniel got TCU started off with a decisive 8-1 win on court two, as the duo improved to 4-1 in dual matches for the Frogs. No. 18 Nick Chappell and Will Stein sealed the point moments later when they downed Bernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa at position No. 1.
Freshman Jhonathan Gonzalez started where he left off yesterday and picked up the Frogs' first singles win on court six with a 6-1, 6-2 take down of Rick Van Hout. No. 77 Chappell played at No. 2 singles for the second day in a row and put TCU ahead 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 win of his own.
Trey Daniel clinched the match for the second day in a row, as the freshman posted a straight sets 6-1, 6-4 win over Germain Bahri to give TCU a 4-0 lead.
With the match already decided, Dachs and Rodolfo Bustamante also recorded wins on the day. Dachs pulled out a 6-2, 6-4 on court three, while Bustamante battled for a 6-1, 7-6(2) win on court five.
The team's lone loss of the day came at No. 1 singles, as No. 60 Lugones dropped only his second singles match of the year with a 7-6, 3-6, 10-3 loss to Bernardo Saraiva.
TCU will continue action today with a 4 p.m., matchup with regional rival Lamar on the Bernard J. `Tut' Bartzen Varsity Courts.
