TCU Shuts Out Lamar 7-0

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 35 TCU men's tennis team posted its fifth win in a row with a 7-0 rout of Lamar on Saturday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) finished the TCU Spring Invitational undefeated, while the Cardinals (6-4, 0-0 Southland) have dropped their first two matches in the tournament.
The highlight in the final match of the tournament was junior Arnau Dachs, who did not drop a game in doubles or singles competition. Dachs and partner Trey Daniel clinched the doubles point for the Frogs with an 8-0 win on court two, before the Vic, Spain native posted a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of Juuso Laitinen at No. 3 singles.
Hudson Blake and Rodolfo Bustamante teamed up to put TCU on the board to start the match, as the duo downed Trey Crsel and Nikita Lis 8-1. Dachs and Daniel finished just moments later, as the Frogs won the doubles point for the fourth match in a row.
With his decisive win on court three by Dachs to put TCU up 2-0, Jhonathan Gonzalez stretched his win streak to three matches with a 6-2, 6-1 victory on court six to put the Frogs up 3-0. Bustamante wrapped up the win for TCU with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Mikko Rajamaki on court four.
The wins did not end there for the Frogs, as No. 77 Nick Chappell stepped back in at No. 1 singles to defeat Michael Feucht 6-3, 6-3. No. 60 Facundo Lugones bounced back from an earlier loss in the day to win on court two 6-3, 6-2, while Daniel finished off the 7-0 victory with a three-set win at No. 5 singles.
TCU will continue playing at home, as the team will host Texas and Tulsa and March 1-2. The Longhorns are up first on Saturday at 1 p.m., in a non-conference showdown, while the Frogs will take on the Golden Hurricanes on Sunday at 1 p.m.
