FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 3 TCU men’s tennis team concluded its Florida road trip by sweeping UCF, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the UCF Tennis Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The Horned Frogs (10-2) earned win No. 10 this season and their fifth straight victory by winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches over the Knights (4-7) to blank their fourth opponent of the season.

TCU dominated on the doubles court, as Alex Rybakov and Guillermo Nuñez scored the first win on court two and the duo’s seventh this season with a 6-2 victory. Eduardo Nava and Trevor Johnson paired up for the first time this season to clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 victory on court three, while Reese Stalder and Hudson Blake wrapped up their match moments later with a 6-3 win at the top position for the pair’s sixth win in dual match action.

In singles, Stalder got off the court quickly as he downed Tyler Pate, 6-2, 6-4 on court six to put TCU up 2-0. Johnson followed by recording his 13th win this season by taking out Nico De Fraia, 6-4, 6-4. For the second match in a row, No. 49 Nuñez clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on court two.

After the overall match victory was clinched, No. 99 Nava and Trey Daniel each picked up straight set victories on courts three and five, respectively, before No. 24 Rybakov finished off the sweep with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win at the top spot.

Up Next
TCU will return home for four straight matches at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center from March 15-22. The Frogs will open with Tulsa on March 15 a 5:30 p.m., before welcoming Columbia and Dartmouth on March 19 and 20, respectively. The team will then end the home stand with a match against Northwestern on March 22 at Noon.
