TCU Men's Tennis Falls to No. 3 Baylor

FORT WORTH, Texas - The 36th ranked TCU men's tennis team fell to the 3rd ranked Baylor Bears 5-2 Wednesday afternoon in a valiant effort to de-throne the top-ranked Bears.

TCU lost two of the three doubles matches, the only win coming from the team of Rafael Abreu and Jacob Martin who defeated the #26 doubles team of Matias Marin and Ivor Lovrak 8-6.

On the singles side, on court No. 1 Alex Menichini (TCU) defeated # 31 Matias Marin 4-6; 7-6; 10-5 (Super Tiebreaker). This was the fifth consecutive win for Menichini and the second consecutive win over a ranked opponent.

On court No. 5 freshman Jacopo Tezza (TCU) handed Baylor's Reiner Neurohr a loss taking it into three sets, 6-7; 6-1; 10-5 (Super Tiebreaker).

Baylor took victories in the other four singles matches, with Fabrizio Sestini (TCU) dropping a tremendous effort against No. 1 Benedikt Dorsch 6-7 (7-3); 6-1

The Frogs take their game on the road against #9 Texas A&M Sunday April 6 at 1:00 p.m. They will return home for their last home match on Saturday April 12 at Noon. They will take on SMU.
