TCU's Fabrizio Sestini reached the main draw of the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships Wednesday, defeating 89th-ranked Matic Omerzel from Georgia in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. The event is being hosted by the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. Sestini, who is ranked No. 73 in singles this fall, will team up with Rafael Abreu for the doubles portion of the event as well. They were placed in the main draw by virtue of their No. 8 ranking.

Sestini is the first Horned Frog since all-American Paul Robinson in 1995 to compete in the main draw of singles and doubles at the ITA All-American. Robinson, who is unquestionably one of the greatest players in TCU history, was an ITA All-American in both singles and doubles in 1994, 1995 and 1996. He owns the most career singles victories in school history with 144. In 1994, Robinson teamed up with David Roditi to win the ITA All-American doubles title, the Frogs' only championship in the event.

The main draw for the ITA All-American begins Thursday, Oct. 7, and continues through Sunday, Oct. 10. The brackets for the event have yet to be determined. Two rounds of singles and one round of doubles will be played Thursday followed by two rounds of doubles and one round of singles Friday. Saturday's schedule mirrors Thursday's and the final day includes one round of singles and doubles. A consolation draw consisting of first-round losers in singles and doubles will be played as well.

The ITA All-American is the first of three national tournaments in collegiate tennis. The National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships are the second (Nov. 4-7, Ann Arbor, Mich.) and the season-ending NCAA Championships are the third (May 25-30, College Station, Texas).
