Men's Tennis Tabbed No. 39 to Start 2014

FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU men’s tennis team is tabbed to start the 2014 season ranked No. 39 in the nation as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in its first poll of the year.

The Horned Frogs were one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the top 40, while Nick Chappell earned a spot in the singles poll along with Facundo Lugones. Chappell also grabbed the team’s highest ranking of No. 11 in the doubles poll with partner Will Stein.

Chappell checks in at No. 84 in the singles poll after finishing the fall campaign with an 8-2 record. Lugones rounded out the TCU players in the singles poll with a No. 118 ranking after going 6-2 during the fall season.

In the Texas Regional rankings, Chappell and Stein once again have the team’s highest ranking at No. 3 in doubles, while Chappell is also ranked No. 12 in singles. Lugones picked up a No. 16 ranking in the singles poll, while Arnau Dachs also earned a regional ranking of No. 19.

TCU returns six letterwinners from a year ago, as the team begins its 2014 spring season on January 9-12 with the UCF Hidden Dual in Orlando, Fla.
