TCU Returns Home to Face Blue Raiders

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 43 TCU men’s tennis team will return home to face Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, Mar. 15 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

The Horned Frogs (7-5) and the Blue Raiders (4-9) will meet up at 1 p.m., at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Admission to the match is free, with free pizza served between the doubles and singles matches courtesy of Buffalo Bros. All fans may participate in the prize court sponsored by Torchy’s Tacos between the doubles and singles matches as well.

TCU Noteables
No. 43 TCU went 1-1 on its trip to California last week with an upset win over No. 32 Pepperdine and a close 4-3 loss to No. 20 Cal on Tuesday. TCU now has two upset victories over ranked opponents this season with the win over the Waves.

Rodolfo Bustamante bounced back from a loss at Pepperdine to defeat No. 113 Andre Goransson of Cal for the seniors’ first victory over a ranked opponent this season. Arnau Dachs, who checked into the singles rankings this week at No. 109, has won three of his last four matches, with all three wins coming against ranked opponents.

Dachs leads TCU with a 9-2 record in singles action, while he and partner Trey Daniel are 7-2 at No. 2 doubles. No. 54 Nick Chappell is 6-5 on the season, while he and his doubles partner Will Stein are ranked No. 13 in the nation. Facundo Lugones rounds out the national rankings for TCU and sits at No. 99 in the singles poll.

Scouting the Blue Raiders
Middle Tennessee State is coming off a 1-1 weekend as well, where the Blue Raiders fell to No. 25 Memphis, 6-1, before defeating Murray State 6-0. Ettore Zito leads the team with eight wins on the season in singles, while Yannick Born and Aaron Jumonville pair up for eight wins in doubles action. Victor Cornea and David Fox hold the team’s only ranking of No. 43 in the doubles poll.

All-Time Series
TCU holds a 2-0 advantage over Middle Tennessee State with the only two meetings coming in 1999 and 2000. This will be the first time the series will take place in Fort Worth, as the other matchups came at neutral sites.
