TCU Hosts Rice for Senior Night

FORT WORTH, Texas - The nationally ranked TCU men's tennis team will wrap up its regular season home slate by welcoming Rice to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Saturday, April 12. 

The No. 56 Horned Frogs (10-11, 0-4 Big 12) and the Owls (8-11, 1-1 CUSA) will meet up at 1 p.m., with free admission to the event. Fans will also be able to enjoy free pizza courtesy of Buffalo Bros., as well as a free USTA kids clinic starting at noon and a Kid's Day Easter Egg Hunt. This will be the final regular season home match for senior Rodolfo Bustamante, who will be honored between the doubles and singles matches.

TCU Noteables
TCU continues to be ranked in the national polls, coming in at No. 56. Nick Chappell is the highest ranked singles player at No. 49, followed by No. 83 Facundo Lugones. Chappell is 19-15 overall this season, while Lugones has a 23-9 record.

Arnau Dachs leads the team with a 14-6 dual match record, while three other Horned Frogs hold double digit singles wins in dual matches. Trey Daniel holds a 12-7 record and recorded his first win over a ranked opponent with the downing of No. 102 Tony Lupieri of Baylor on Tuesday

Chappell and Will Stein reached the top of the doubles rankings and check in a career-high No. 10 this week. The duo are 9-8 in doubles matches on court one and have defeated six ranked opponents. Dachs and Daniel are 9-6 on court two, with Lugones and Hudson Blake sitting at 8-4 on court three.

Scouting the Owls
Rice is coming off a 1-1 showing on Tuesday with a 4-3 loss to UTSA and a 5-1 defeat of Abilene Christian. Max Andrews and Adam Gustafsson topped USTA's No. 29 ranked doubles pair, but ultimately lost the doubles point. The duo are 7-3 on the season and have won two matches against ranked opponents. Andrews is one of two members of the team with a team-leading 13 wins in singles action. Srikar Alla also has 13 wins and a victory over a ranked opponent.

All-Time Series
TCU is 31-13 all-time against Rice, including a 4-3 victory last spring. The teams met for the first time in 1974 and TCU once held an 18-match winning streak from 1990-03. The Owls snapped the winning streak and won eight straight starting in 2004 until TCU took the match in 2013.
