Three Frogs named to men's tennis All-MWC team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Christopher Biro and Cosmin Cotet were named to the All-Mountain West Conference singles team, while Cotet and Kriegler Brink were selected to the All-MWC doubles team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Biro, a graduate student from Adelaide, Australia, garnered honors after going 5-1 in the MWC and 13-6 overall, including winning 10 of his last 11 singles contests. Biro, who previously played three seasons at Arizona State, was named a Pac-10 Honorable Mention in 2005.
Cotet, a native of Iasi, Romania, was selected to the all-conference singles team after putting together a MWC record of 5-1 playing at the No. 1 position. The TCU junior went 10-9 overall playing primarily at the No. 1 slot, after playing no higher than the No. 3 position last season. Cotet also knocked off four nationally ranked opponents this season, including Utah's Zach Ganger, BYU's James Ludlow and UNLV's Elliot Wronski.
The doubles tandem of Brink and Cotet were honored after putting together a conference record of 4-1 and an overall record of 14-4 at the No. 1 position. The duo is currently ranked No. 43, and was ranked as high as No. 23 in the nation this season. The pair also defeated three ranked tandems on the season.
The men will open the MWC Championship on Thursday in the quarterfinals against Air Force at 4 p.m. CT.
