Big 12 All-Tournament Team Announced

FORT WORTH, Texas – After securing their second straight Big 12 tournament title and sweeping both crowns for the season, TCU men’s tennis players Cameron Norrie, Alex Rybakov, Trevor Johnson, Reese Stalder and Guillermo Nuñez were named to the 2017 Big 12 Tennis All-Tournament team as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
For the second straight season, Norrie, Rybakov and Johnson all earned honors in singles and doubles, while Stalder and Nuñez received the honors for the first time in their careers. After becoming the first player in conference history to claim back-to-back Most Outstanding Player honors, Norrie also earned All-Tournament honors at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles for the second straight season. Norrie and Stalder were the only players to go 2-0 in singles action over the weekend with Stalder clinching the semifinal match against Oklahoma and Norrie securing the final point against Texas Tech in the final.
Rybakov and Johnson were the All-Tournament selections at No. 2 singles and No. 5 singles, respectively, for the second straight season. Both players went 1-0 and earned a spot on the doubles All-Tournament team. Nuñez rounded out the honorees at the championship with his first selection at No. 2 doubles as he paired up with Rybakov to help get the doubles point against Texas Tech.
TCU will now await their selection into the NCAA Championship, which will be announced on Tuesday, May 2 at 4 p.m.
