Trio Appears in Preseason ITA Rankings

FORT WORTH, Texas - Two singles players along with a doubles duo from the TCU men's tennis program earned spots in the preseason ITA College Tennis Rankings.

The TCU doubles tandem of Nick Chappell and Will Stein earned the highest doubles ranking in the Big 12 conference and check in at No. 19. The duo posted an 18-5 record a year ago and won nine of their last 10 doubles matches to claim the Big 12 No. 1 Doubles title.

Chappell also earned a preseason ranking in singles and appears at No. 83, while Arnau Dachs is at No. 106. In singles play, Chappell defeated three ranked opponents and earned All-Big 12 honors. Dachs ranked as high as No. 100 last season and finished the season with a 16-8 record after starting the season unbeaten in the month of January.

Chappell and Stein earned a spot in the qualifying doubles draw at the ITA All-American Championships to be played in Tulsa, Okla., on Sept. 28-Oct. 6. Chappell and Dachs are earned spots in the qualifying singles draw, while Stein, Facundo Lugones, Rodolfo Bustamante, Blake Wiggins, Andres Alfonzo, Trey Daniel and Hudson Blake will compete in the pre qualifying draw.

TCU opens the fall season with the Midland Collegiate Invitational on Sept. 13-15 in Midland, Texas.
