Roditi Releases the 2017-18 Schedule

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU men's tennis coach David Roditi released the 2017-18 fall and spring schedule on Monday, with 16 of the 18 opponents the Horned Frogs will play finished the 2016-17 ranked in the final Oracle/ITA poll.
The back-to-back Big 12 regular season and tournament champions will play at least 14 matches against opponents who participated in the NCAA Championship last year. The Horned Frogs, who finished the 2016-17 season ranked No. 8 nationally, will host 11 spring matches on the Bernard J. `Tut' Bartzen Varsity Courts at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Frogs' schedule includes seven fall tournaments beginning with the team splitting between the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas and the Hall of Fame/ITA Grass Court Invitational in Newport, R.I., from Sept. 15-17. The team will then split action between the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco, Calif., and the ACU Invitational in Abilene, Texas from Sept. 22-24. TCU will come together for the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships from Sept. 30-Oct. 8 in Tulsa, Okla., before concluding the fall with the Collin County Invitational (Oct. 13-14) and the ITA Texas Regional Championships presented by Oracle (Oct. 19-23).
The season will resume in January as the team begins the season on the road for the second straight year as they travel to Tempe, Ariz., to take on Arizona State on Jan. 21. TCU will then return home to host the ITA National Kick-Off Weekend for the third straight year from Jan. 27-28 where the Frogs will take on San Diego in the first round. Louisville and Duke will also be on hand, with the winner of the four-team tournament advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Seattle, Wash., from Feb. 16-19.
The month of February has two home matches for TCU and road trip across town to Dallas. The Frogs will welcome USF on Feb. 9 and then Tulsa on Feb. 28 and will travel to SMU for a match on Feb. 11.
A match on the road will begin March as the team travels to Illinois on March 3 before returning home to host Penn on March 8. TCU will head to the state of Florida for a neutral match against Duke on March 13 at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla., before heading to Gainesville, Fla., to take on the Gators on March 14. Home matches against Columbia (March 18), Tulane (March 25) and UT Arlington (March 25) are also on the slate with quick road trips to Texas A&M (March 20) and Texas (March 31) rounding out the month.
Big 12 action at home will start in April as TCU hosts Oklahoma (April 13), Oklahoma State (April 15) and Baylor (April 19) to begin the month, before ending the regular season on the road at Texas Tech on April 22.
The Frogs will start postseason play by heading to Austin, Texas for the 2018 Big 12 Championships on April 26-29. The first and second rounds of NCAA Championship action begins on May 12-13 on campus sites. Wake Forest will host the NCAA Team Championships and NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on May 17-28 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
