Burleson and Dachs Named AOW

FORT WORTH -- Sophomore volleyball player Mattie Burleson and sophomore tennis player Arnau Dachs are TCU's Athletes of the week for their performances in their sports thus far. Both of the sophomores have played at the top of their game this season.
Burleson, the Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter from Edmond, Okla., recorded 24 total kills on the weekend against USC, Prairie View A&M and Lehgih in the fourth tournament of the season. Her kills ranked her second best on the team right under Sloane Sunstrum. She averaged 2.67 kills per set.
Burleson recorded a career high with an impressive 11 kills in three sets against No.3-ranked USC. She also fought the Trojans with a game high seven blocks who had a distinct size advantage. Against Prairie View A&M she set a career high with 10 total blocks against the Panthers. Her 10 blocks are tied for the sixth-most in a match in TCU history and the most for a three-set match.
Dachs made an impressive TCU debut by winning the Racquet Club Invitational. He opened his season with a 5-7,6-2,7-6 win over Texas Tech in a round of 32 after receiving a bye in the first round event. He then continued on to beat Texas, 6-3,6-3 and New Mexico, 7-5,6-3.
As Dachs kept the ball rolling he defeated the second Texas player of the tournament with a 6-4,6-3,6-4 win to achieve the Racquet Club Title. Dachs is the first Horned Frog to win the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in the 12-year history that TCU has been participating in the event.
