FORT WORTH - TCU men's tennis coach David Roditi announced the signing of Trey Daniel to a National Letter of Intent.

Daniel is a five-star rated prospect from Shawnee Mission, Kan., and is ranked as the No. 39 prospect in the United States, according to tennisrecruiting.net. He is also rated the No. 1 prospect in the state of Kansas.

Roditi credits Daniel's tennis background and Texas roots, along with his competitiveness as key parts of his game. He also is another American on Roditi's roster, which features a strong mix of American and foreign players.

"Trey will bring a lot of competitiveness and experience to an already-experienced squad," Roditi said. "We think he's one of the best athletes in this class. He doesn't have any holes in his game. He comes from a tennis family and knows the game well. We expect him to be a great contributor for four years."

TCU opens its spring season Jan. 19 at Detroit.
