Photo Gallery-Sophomore Season 2008-09 OUTLOOK (JUNIOR): Shayla Moore looks to earn increased playing time from a year ago, when she averaged just under 10 minutes per game... a long-range shooter who can strike from nearly any spot on the floor... development will be important in TCU's quest to replace four guards lost to graduation... "Shayla has improved in a couple of critical areas for us," said Head Coach Jeff Mittie. "Defensively, she has greatly improved from last season. Offensively, she is coming off a rough year shooting the basketball, but she has worked really hard to correct some flaws in her shot. She really wants to have a big year for us, and I think she can do that." 2007-08 (SOPHOMORE): Moore appeared in 23 of 34 games during her sophomore campaign... earned her second career start, and first of the season, against No. 12/14 Cal (Nov. 23)... tied her career high with three assists in the season-opening win over Radford (Nov. 9)... drilled a pair of 3-pointers against Delaware (Nov. 16)... buried two more treys while scoring a season-high seven points against SMU (Nov. 20)... notched five points with a career-high two steals against Coppin State (Dec. 8)... scored five points, her highest total of 2008, in only nine minutes of play at Colorado State... registered five points and two boards in only five minutes of action at home against UNLV (March 1). 2006-07 (FRESHMAN): Moore played in 17 games and received one start... played a career-high 22 minutes and started the season opener at Maryland on Nov. 17... set career highs in points and 3-pointers by finishing 3-of-4 from beyond the arc with nine points at Colorado State on Feb. 7... posted a career-high three assists against Air Force on Feb. 10... also had a career-best three rebounds to go with six points against the Falcons... scored five points against Colorado State on Jan. 6. HIGH SCHOOL: According to Texashoops.com, Moore ranked as the 11th-best incoming freshman in the state of Texas... was a four-year standout out at Denison High School in Denison, Texas, where she played under the direction of David Land... regarded as one of the best shooters to ever play at Denison... the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,777 points to her credit... selected MVP/Offensive Player each of her four years at Denison High... as a junior and senior, selected DHS Female Athlete of the Year... tabbed All-Texomaland first team four straight seasons... all-Texomaland MVP in 2004-2006... tabbed a Herald Democrat Female Athlete top basketball player as a junior and senior... owns the season record for most 3-pointers made in a season as a junior (104)... named to several all-star teams including the Texas Girls High School Association (TGCA all-region, all-state) and Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABCA) for four straight seasons... a 2006 Texas/Oklahoma All-Star player... mentioned as a Dallas Morning News "Player To Watch" her last two seasons in high school... also a four-year letterwinner in softball and played three seasons of volleyball... chose TCU over Texas A&M.
