2013-14 Season Preview
Natalie Ventress continues to show why she was so highly regarded coming out of high school as she is quickly becoming one of the better players in the Big 12 Conference heading into her junior year. A double-digit scorer in her first two years in the program, look for Ventress, who has started 49-straight contests, to continue to produce for the Frogs in the scoring column in 2013-14 as she gets more accustomed to Big 12 play. She has the potential to be a First-Team All-Big 12 honoree this season, while also pushing for all-region honors.

2012-13 (SOPHOMORE)
Ventress closed the year ranking 38th in the NCAA in free throw percentage, shooting 84.3 percent from the charity stripe ... She finished second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game, which ranked 20th overall in the Big 12 Conference ... Also finished third in the league in free throw percentage and 14th overall in 3-point field goals made per game (1.53) ... During league play, the sophomore ranked 30th in scoring, averaging 10.0 points per game, while ranking in the top-15 in free throw percentage and 3-point field goals made ... She led TCU in scoring 11 times on the season, while scoring in double-figures 16 times on the year ... Ventress hit the 20-point mark five times in 2012-13 ... She recorded a career-high with 27 points against Oklahoma, including 23 in the first half ... Posted 24 points, including six 3-pointers, at Oklahoma State ... Ventress came up big at the line in win over Oklahoma State, making 5-of-6 free throws ... Recorded 20 points against UCF ... Once again led TCU in scoring, recording 19 points, while grabbing seven boards in 35 minutes of action at Texas State ... Led Frogs with 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting against Georgia ... Ventress, a first team all-conference selection in 2011-12, put together a season that quite arguably could go down as one of the most successful freshman seasons' in Horned Frog history ... She became the first Horned Frog to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Year since former Frog and current professional Helena Sverrisdottir did so in 2007-08 ... By collecting first team accolades, she not only became the first Horned Frog in program history to earn first team MW honors as a true freshman, but also the first in the Mountain West since Utah's Kim Smith did so during her rookie campaign in 2002-03 ... In all, Ventress, who scored in double-figures in 11 of the 14 conference games and 18 overall, was the only freshman in the conference and one of only two players overall to have six games of 20 or more points during conference play ... Ventress, who finished the regular season ranked No. 15 amongst all freshman scorers in the NCAA and No. 8 in conference games only nationally, led TCU in scoring 18 times, including seven games of 20 or more ... The freshman ended the season ranked No. 37 in free throw percentage nationally at 84 percent from the charity stripe ... She closed the season becoming the first freshman to lead TCU in scoring with an average of 13.4 points per game, since Jill Sutton tallied 13.3 for the 1997-98 campaign ... Tied her then career-high output, while knocking down 4-of-6 from behind the arc ... Set a career-high with 25 points at UNLV in 39 minutes, which tied her career most ... Hit five from outside, the most in her career and tied a career high with eight total field goals ... Scored 23 points, including 7-of-8 from the free throw line against Boise State ... Posted second-straight game with 20 or more in the second half ... Tied her career-best four steals ... Filled the stat line once again against Air Force with 17 points, six rebounds and two steals ... Notched 18 points at New Mexico, while grabbing a new career-high nine boards ... Had a solid night against Wyoming with 10 points, five boards and four assists.

Ventress, who was ranked as high as the No. 91 overall prospect in the country by ESPN/HoopGurlz Hot 100, was a four-star rated guard out of North Crowley High School ... After a solid senior season, Ventress was not only named the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Player of the Year, but was also a McDonalds All-America nominee ... She also earned first-team all-area by the Dallas Morning News, while being named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star team ... Ventress sat at No. 103 according to All-Star Girls Report and as the 82nd best player in the country by Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Report ... Ventress also ranked among the top 100 players in the nation and is No. 12 overall in the state of Texas according to Premier Basketball Report ... She was also the fourth-best guard in the state of Texas and ranked No. 30 overall among guards nationally according to ESPN/HoopGurlz ... A Texas Girls Coaching Association all-state honoree as a junior and senior, Ventress earned multiple honors during her time with the Panthers, including first-team all-district accolades and District 3-5A MVP honors ... Ventress, who averaged over 15 points during her high school career, has also excelled in the classroom at North Crowley earning academic all-district accolades multiple times in both volleyball and basketball.
