Photo Gallery-Junior Season Watch Younger's video profile! 2006-07 Academic All-Mountain West Conference 2008-09 OUTLOOK (SENIOR): The lone senior on this season's Lady Frog team, Micaela Younger looks to earn increased playing time from a year ago, when she was a frequent contributor in the first half of the season... "You look at the games where she played her best last season, those were against some of the best teams in the nation--Texas A&M and LSU," said Head Coach Jeff Mittie. "She will be able to draw on those experiences. She is a physical player and is running the floor better than last season. Micki also is our best defender in the paint. If she can show that she can score down low on a more consistent basis, she will earn more minutes." 2007-08 (JUNIOR): Younger started nine games overall at center for TCU as a junior... ranked sixth among Frogs in rebounds... has led TCU this season once in scoring and once in rebounds, both against Texas A&M on Dec. 2... totaled two double-figure scoring games overall during the season... recorded career bests in points (21) and rebounds (11) with her first career double-double against the Aggies while shooting 9-of-10 from the floor... surpassed her previous career high in points in the opening 12:07 of the game, while going on to play a personal-best 36 minutes... the game began a four-game stetch where she went 19-of-21 from the field, nearly doubling her season field-goal percentage... scored her 200th career point during TCU's regular-season finale at BYU (March 8). 2006-07 (SOPHOMORE): Younger started 12 games at center for the Lady Frogs... ranked second on the team in blocked shots with 15... scored a career-best eight points on 3-of-3 shooting against Pepperdine on Dec. 3... snagged a career-high eight rebounds against San Diego State on Jan. 28... tallied a career-best three blocks against Syracuse on Dec. 20... scored five points against Ole Miss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament... also set a career high with two steals against Syracuse... scored seven points three times... grabbed seven rebounds in 13 minutes against Rice... named to the Spring 2007 Academic All-MWC Team. 2005-06 (FRESHMAN): Younger served as a reserve forward for the Lady Frogs... appeared in 13 of TCU's 31 games as a rookie... averaged 0.8 points and 0.4 rebounds per game... shot 28.6 percent (4-of-14) from the field and 33.3 percent (2-of-6) from the free throw line... made her collegiate debut against Georgia on Nov. 21... played a season-high six minutes against Georgia and at Oklahoma (Nov. 30)... made the only basket she attempted (1-for-1) in the first game of her college career against Georgia... the next game, recorded a season-high four points by shooting a perfect 2-for-2 from the field against Mississippi State (Nov. 25)... pulled down a season-best three rebounds, including two offensive boards, against Cornell (Jan. 2)... registered a block versus Duke (Dec. 6). HIGH SCHOOL: Younger earned varsity letters in basketball, volleyball and track and field while attending Caesar Rodney H.S... named second-team all-state in basketball... helped her squad win the 2004 conference championship... named athlete of the week several times during her career... holds the school records for blocked shots in a game, season and career... was tabbed the team's Rookie of the Year in 2002... served as the basketball team's captain two years... picked up all-state accolades in volleyball in 2004... received all-conference second-team recognition in volleyball... led Caesar Rodney to a volleyball league title as a senior... was the conference's four-time champion in the shot put... won the state shot put crown one season... was runner-up in the state in shot put two years... an all-state pick for track and field... volunteered her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Salvation Army and the Delaware Parents Association.
