Post-Game Quotes

TCU Head Coach, Jeff Mittie
Opening Statement:
"I thought it was a great basketball game. Both teams were going at each other for 40 minutes. It really boils down to a couple plays here and there. They made a few more than we did."

On the final result:
"I thought both teams played at a high level. I thought the key to the second half was turnovers. We were not able to get them out of their rhythm. I thought both teams played great. I think we didn't quite have the legs down the stretch to get the turnovers."

On the performance of the team:
"I think this team is getting better. I don't think there is any doubt over the last two or three games you see things that are better. This is hard on them because they played so well. Neither team could run away from each other and Oklahoma did a great job of winning the last four minutes of the game. The youth of our basketball team and playing together more is getting better. It takes time and adjustments. We are finding each other and we are converting plays. I think they are growing up. We know the Big 12 is the best league in the country and you have to come ready to play every night. I think we came ready to play tonight."

Closing Statement:
"I know our group is hungry to win. We continue to talk about coming in tomorrow and getting better. This group has done a good job of coming in the next day and getting better. I think tonight we traded blows with a very good Oklahoma team."

TCU Sophomore Guard, Natalie Ventress
On the runs during the game:
"In our minds we couldn't miss. When everything was going in it got us very excited. It gave us momentum."

On the conversations down the stretch:
"We knew we had to take care of the basketball and if we had an open shot to take it."

On what the team can take from this loss:
"We are getting better every day, every game and in practice. We will take this and learn from it and be better for the next game."

On frustration of having a great game, but not result:
"On any given day everyone is going to have a great game. They had a great game, we had a great game, they just came out with the win."

On overall performance:
"Defensively, I don't think it was our best game, but offensively we were finding each other and I thought it was our best performance."

OU Head Coach, Sherri Coale
Opening Statement:
"For anybody who thinks women's basketball isn't pretty, that was pretty. A lot of players hit shots, which was really sound basketball. I was really proud of our second half effort. We were flat early on and you have to give TCU credit because they hit a bunch of shots, but I'm not sure we made them very difficult. I think our discipline to go inside late in the game was impressive, so I'm very proud."

On TCU's shooting:
"We talked about their guards being their strength. You can tell on film that they have a lot of confidence, they believe they are suppose to make those shots."

On road wins in the Big 12:
"The road is really long and we are proud of what we have done. I am proud of our mentality and composure. We have been through a lot this season and to steady ourselves to be able play at this level makes me really proud. This win doesn't mean anything if we go home and stub our toe on Saturday."

OU Junior Guard, Morgan Hook
On the ability to win this game:
"The first half was not Oklahoma basketball. It came down to four minutes left and we looked at each other and said we are not losing this game. 3-0 is a great spot to be at in the Big 12."
