FORT WORTH, Texas -- No. 24 TCU women's basketball edged out another close win and ran its winning streak to six games with a 62-58 win over Oklahoma at Schollmaier Arena on Saturday afternoon.

TCU (15-5, 6-3) shot a season-low 33 percent from the field, but played some of its best defense of the season and held Oklahoma (10-11, 5-5) to 35 percent. The Frogs snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Sooners and earned their first six-game win streak since 2010-11.

The Frogs led most of the game, but found themselves down by five points in the fourth quarter. Amber Ramirez scored all nine of her points in the final two minutes of the game, the only Frog to score during that time, and turned a tie game into a TCU win.

Lauren Heard led the Frogs with 12 points, including the 3-pointer that tied the score with 2:48 to go. Kianna Ray added 11 points and a team-high four assists for the Frogs.

TCU has now avenged all three of its Big 12 losses during its six-game win streak, knocking off the Sooners, West Virginia and Kansas in the second game with all three.

Defining Moments
After TCU led for most of the game, Oklahoma took a three-point lead into the final quarter. The Sooners would take a five-point lead early, but no team every led by more than five in the quarter.

Heard's 3-pointer with 2:48 remaining tied the score at 53-53. Gabbi Ortiz missed a 3-pointer on OU's next possession, and then Ramirez scored her first basket of the game to give TCU a two-point lead.

After Jordan Moore's third block of the game, Ramirez connected on her only 3-pointer to give TCU a 58-53 lead with 1:20 remaining. Ortiz answered with her own 3-pointer, then Ramirez was fouled driving to the basket. She made both free throws with 15.7 seconds left, giving TCU a 60-56 lead.

The Sooners made a layup with 8.6 seconds remaining, but on TCU's ensuing inbound play Ramirez sprint to the basket and made a layup before OU could foul her, giving TCU the 62-58 win.

Stat of the Game
11 -- The Frogs committed just 11 turnovers, their second fewest this season and the fewest in a Big 12 game.

Quote of the Game
"Our fans were awesome. The Fort Worth community, Girls Inc., our alumni, just all that Frog purple in there was huge and helped propel our team. I think it was the difference maker in that game. Obviously, the players go out and execute and defend and rebound, but you need that energy." -- Raegan Pebley

Up Next
The Frogs will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Iowa State for a Tuesday night game. The Cyclones upset No. 19 Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Wednesday and take on No. 6 Texas in Austin on Saturday night.
