Post-Game Quotes
TCU 64, Oklahoma State 63
Daniel-Meyer Coliseum (Fort Worth, Texas)
Attendance: 2,315

TCU Head Coach, Jeff Mittie
Opening Statement:
“I thought we fought hard. I challenge our group to win the hustle plays. Tonight, I thought we won a lot of the hustle plays and it shows in the rebounding. We really made a point as a coaching staff that we are going to win those hustle plays or you won’t be on the court. I really thought our group played really hard tonight.”

“It is a competitive league and there is going to be a lot of games like this. That is the league, it’s a grind.”

Strategy on that last play:
“I wanted to get Chelsea Prince in defensively to add pressure to their point guard. We had a foul to give at that time and wanted to take as much time off as we could. The plan was to foul once they got into a scoring attack and I thought we did a good job at that.”

On the extra minutes for Delisa Gross:
“She was playing great and deserved to be out on the court. This group has kept a good attitude and comes to work every day.”

On moving on after the first win:
“We will let them enjoy this one. It has been such a long ride, but the last thing we left with was to enjoy it and then get ready for Saturday. Our preparation will start tonight. That is just the grind. You don’t change, win or lose. Your preparation has to be exactly the same, it is the consistency of what we do.”

TCU Forward, Delisa Gross
What was the difference tonight:
“We didn’t have a great shooting game in our first game against Oklahoma State. We took shots that weren’t our shots and we didn’t execute the gameplan. I think tonight we executed. Our emphasis going into the game was to get out in transition and rebound. I think we did that very well.”

How did this compare to other close games:
“In the last couple of seconds, we all came together and told each other that we were not going to lose this game. We are not going to lose on our home court.”

On how the win felt:
“I think this was a good win. We are a young team. We have a freshmen point guard who is playing phenomenal. I think this win shows this young team that it can compete in the Big 12 and will continue to compete in the Big 12 for years to come.”

Oklahoma State Head Coach, Jim Littell
Opening Statement:
“Credit TCU, I thought they played very hard and played with a lot of passion. They kept playing when we had a nine or ten point lead at the end. You cannot waste possessions with the game on the line and we wasted numerous possessions that ended up in a 10-0 run. A lot of kids when they are 0-13 would mail it in and not finish, but we knew coming into here how hard they’d play.”

On the play of Delisa Gross and Donielle Breaux tonight:
“Well Gross hurt us in Stillwater the last time. You get exposed in this league pretty quick if you have one or two don’t guard well.”
