Head Coach Jeff Mittie
"Obviously, I'm not very happy with how we played tonight. There was not one phase of the game that was good. We are very fortunate to win and I will take it, but we have a lot of work to do."
On Delisa Gross' play Friday:
"I thought she had a great second half. She had a nightmarish first half, but I really thought she gave the best effort out of any of our players tonight in the second half."
On the lack of effort tonight:
"Our staff could tell in warmups. We knew it was a quick turnaround, but we practiced for this turnaround. We told them this is why we are doing this. I had it on the calendar and explained to them that they have to get used to this in college basketball. The turnarounds are going to be quick. We have to know that though."
On Caitlin Diaz's play Friday:
"She came in and played extremely hard and that is what we need from her. We need energy players and rebounding. That is what she specifically went in for tonight. She got four boards in seven minutes, which are pretty solid numbers. What we have told her is that while her minutes may not be a lot, when she gets in, she needs to do exactly what she did tonight. I think she has a good attitude about it."
On Natalie Ventress Friday:
"I thought she did some better things late, but I was not pleased with her play overall. She did make some big free throws down the stretch and we know that she has a knack for those types of plays. She wasn’t necessarily the difference in the game though."
On the last free throws being the difference:
"We ran some things for Natalie (Ventress) and I think our group did a good job of getting her the basketball. She did get to the free-throw line, which was the difference in this game. We were able to get to it more than they were in the end."
