AUSTIN, Texas - Reserve Alicia Sare scored 17 points as No. 23 Texas posted its third blowout victory at home, beating TCU 86-54 Tuesday night.

Heather Sterner added 14 points, Stacy Stephens 12 and Cocoa Reed 10 for the Longhorns (3-2).

The victory over TCU (3-4) opened a four-game home stand for Texas, which has struggled badly in two losses away from the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns have won their three home games by an average score of 91-38.

The Longhorns easily overmatched McNeese State and Southwest Texas at home, and expected a stiffer test from the Horned Frogs.

Texas responded by winning the rebounding battle 40-31, forcing 20 turnovers and going 21-of-24 from the line

The Longhorns took a 15-0 lead by turning eight TCU turnovers in the first six minutes into 13 points. TCU got off just two shots in that stretch.

The Horned Frogs cut the deficit to 23-14 with 7:31 left in the half. Sare then scored nine of Texas' next 11 points, including a steal and fastbreak layup and a 3-pointer that pushed the lead to 34-19.

Sare's 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds left in the half made it 44-26. She had 14 points in the first half.

TCU, which hit 22 of 24 free throws, cut the lead to 48-36 early in the second half before Schreiber scored seven straight in a 15-0 Texas run that pushed the lead to 63-36 with 10:13 to play.

Sandora Irvin and Ashley Browning scored nine points apiece for TCU.
