PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points and Rutgers hit 14 of 18 free throws in the final three minutes to beat 19th-ranked TCU 73-65 on Sunday.

Rutgers, which lost its last four games and fell out of the Top 25 last week, had four players in double figures.

Chelsea Newton added 15 points, Shalicia Hurns 12 and Dawn McCullouch 11 for the Scarlet Knights (4-4).

Limited to two points in the first half, TCU's Sandora Irvin scored 20 in the game. Amy Pack added 18 and Kim Ortega 11 for TCU (6-1).

Rutgers held a 36-24 lead less than two minutes into the second half on Michelle Campbell's jumper in the lane.

TCU cut it to 40-39 with 13:20 to play on Pack's 3-pointer, but Rutgers used five TCU turnovers over the next six minutes in a 13-5 run to rebuild its advantage to 10 with 7:07 to play.

Rutgers extended the margin to 13 before TCU began sending the Scarlet Knights to the line and launching 3-pointers. Ortega's 3-pointer with 31 seconds left drew the Horned Frogs to 69-65 but Pondexter and Chelsea Newton sealed the game with a pair of free throws each.
