TCU head coach Jeff Mittie
"It got off to a great start offensively on both sides. We knew this team could shoot the basketball coming in and we were a little slow on our rotations early in this game and they made us pay early. Middle parts of the game were good for us, obviously I think the story for us was our offense, it was really clicking early and we were shooting the ball well. I think our team is continuing to get better and better. They are improving in every practice, they are finding each other much better and we are continuing to talk about more assists in each game. We are doing a lot good things now, so you are seeing our offense pick up."
On preparing for Big 12 and team growth
"I knew tonight's game was going to be an offensive game and that there were going to be pretty good numbers too. One of the things that I hope we are doing is creating more ways to win than we had last year. I think this team is starting to feel that they don't have to shoot the three to win, and we didn't tonight. I think Ventress is playing as well as I've seen her play and she just continues to go get the right shots and is very patient, so we are finding more ways and I think this group has more options. We have more ways to win games and I think that's going to be a key."
Sophomore guard Veja Hamilton
On one of the most complete games of her career
"I would say so. I feel like my defense mainly in the second half is what helped us come alive more as far as rotations and getting defensive rebounds."
On bench players scoring
Senior guard Alexann Yancey
"It's always exciting to see our bench players get in the game and make stuff happen offensively and defensively and so we were pumped to see (Alexann Yancey) score and it was awesome."
On scoring first points of career at TCU
"It's an ongoing joke with the team; I happen to miss a lot up lay-ups in practice and so I kind of knew the bench was going to be nervous for me because I was nervous for myself and I got the ball and I'm right handed and it was a left-handed layup. It was pretty ironic I air-balled the three and I normally make the threes and I made the layup and I think that's why everyone was pretty excited."
On bench players playing
"Coach Mittie tells us to focus a lot on hustling and our defense and so I think as bench players coming off like Chelsea Prince who give so much energy when she comes on the court, that's mainly our goal to get on the court and do what were supposed to do and focus on doing our job."
