Head coach Jeff Mittie
On Meagan Henson's performance
"She brings a lot of energy in the game and it is fun to watch. Her passing ability and vision gets a lot of people involved and the offense was kind of stagnant at that point and she provided some good energy. With Natalie [Ventress] out it allowed an opportunity for her and more throughout this year. Coming in when Zahna is really exhausted has helped and given us such a burst."
On Chelsea Prince starting
"You have to be ready whether it be sickness, ankle injury or foul trouble, whatever the case my be we have to have better depth because this league is going to have all those challenges throughout. So in preparation for the Big 12 it was probably a benefit tonight to have to use our bench a little bit deeper."
On heading into Big 12 play
"I think our first shot defense has been pretty good. I'm still concerned with our rebounding in stretches and offensively we still have some real dry spells. In those stretches we still have to get to the free throw line more often, but I do like the fact that for an after Christmas game it only got sloppy in a few stretches. I think otherwise it was a clean game so I thought that was pretty solid."
Senior guard Meagan Henson
On first half minutes
Junior forward Chelsea Prince
"I try to always be ready for any circumstance because you don't always know what situations can arise, so I always try to stay focused as much as possible because my teammates count on me. If Zahna [Medley] and Veja [Hamilton] need a break I feel its my responsibility to give them a few minutes so they can come back in and play great like they always do."
On performance in first start of the season
"Coach just told me to be ready to step up. I thought that I did a good job. I just tried to play well and I am happy that I played well after the break."
On Megan Henson's performance
"When Megan Henson comes into the game it's just speed speed speed. I don't have to look for the ball, I know she will get it to anybody that is running. It's knowing that you have to be ready to look for the ball because she will get it to you."
