Recap |  Final Stats

TCU 66, Houston 61
Houston, Texas (Hofheinz Pavilion)
Dec. 31, 2009
Attendance: 505

-TCU improved to 9-3 with its fourth consecutive victory.

-The Frogs are 6-0 this season against teams from the state of Texas, marking the best start in such contests in program history. TCU has never gone undefeated when playing more than five in-state rivals in a season. The squad’s final matchup against an in-state rival is Saturday’s meeting with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

-Helena Sverrisdottir tied single-game career highs for field goals (10) and 3-pointers (three). Here 26 points fell only one point shy of the career best she set Feb. 4, 2009 at Utah.

-Sverrisdottir needs 15 more points to become only the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000 for her career. She also is only six assists shy of 300 career helpers.

-Emily Carter totaled 17 points and is averaging 19.0 points per game during TCU’s current four-game winning streak. She is shooting 55.8 percent from the field during the stretch.

-TK LaFleur scored in double-figures for a team-leading sixth consecutive outing.

-Despite falling behind 13-5 in the rebounding column to state the game, TCU regrouped to win the rebounding battle (43-39) for the eighth time in 12 contests. The Frogs won the battle only six times in 2008-09.

-TCU drilled six 3-pointers Thursday and has made at least six in all but one game this season (two vs. Sam Houston State).
