FORT WORTH, Texas – Desmon White of football and Amy Okonkwo of women’s basketball have been named this week’s TCU Athletes of the Week.

White, a senior wide receiver from DeSoto, Texas, found the end zone three times three different ways against Stanford at the Valero Alamo Bowl, recording receiving, passing, and punt return touchdowns. On the opening drive of the second half, White threw a touchdown to quarterback Kenny Hill on a trick play that went for 27 yards. Later in the quarter, Hill returned the favor and found White for an 11-yard score. In the fourth quarter, White gave TCU its first lead of the game with a 76-yard punt return and the Horned Frogs went on to win 39-37. White finishes his career with 104 receptions, 1,076 receiving yards, and nine total touchdowns.

Okonkwo, a junior forward from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., recorded a double-double at Kansas, scoring a game-high 22 points and adding ten rebounds. She went 10-of-10 at the free throw line, the second time this season she has gone 10-of-10. Against No.9 ranked West Virginia, Okonkwo scored 17 points and led TCU with eight rebounds. In the Big 12, she ranks sixth in scoring with 16.8 points per game and second in free throw percentage at 91.8%.
