March 7, 2007
LAS VEGAS (March 7, 2007) - The TCU women's basketball team will need a second-half comeback similar to the one that their male counterparts used Tuesday night, as the Lady Frogs trail 34-24 at the half in their quarterfinal battle with the Utah Utes.
The Frogs made just 3 of their first 20 attempts from the field and trailed 22-8 with 6:13 remaining in the stanza. However, TCU used a 10-0 run over the next 2:04 to cut the Utes' lead to just four at 22-18.
Utah scored 12 of the final 18 points prior to intermission to return the lead to double digits. The Utes shot nearly 60 percent from the field, while TCU hit just 30 percent of its attempts.
Utah's Morgan Warburton has a game-high 14 points, while Adrianne Ross leads the Frogs with eight.
