Medley, a sophomore guard on the women's basketball squad, earned Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team honors after averaging 25.0 points while shooting 42 percent (14-of-33) from the field, 44 percent (8-of-18) from 3-point range and 88 percent (14-of-16) from the free-throw line against Texas Tech and No. 7 West Virginia.
The Springfield, Ill., native registered perhaps the greatest performance of her young career in Saturday's near upset of the seventh-ranked Mountaineers, posting season highs of 32 points and six 3-pointers while going 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. The 32-point performance ranks as the sixth-most in a Big 12 Championship contest, while the six treys place as the fourth most. Both marks are TCU records in conference tournament action.
Lugones, a junior on the men's tennis team, posted two victories on Saturday as the Frogs upset No. 32 Pepperdine on the road. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, product teamed up with Hudson Blake for an 8-4 doubles win as the duo remained undefeated this season (6-0) to help TCU clinch the crucial opening point.
With the Frogs leading 3-2 over the Waves, Lugones pulled out a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Francis Alcantara at the No. 2 position to seal the upset win for TCU. Lugones, ranked No. 93 nationally, improved to 18-5 overall this season and 5-3 in dual play.
