FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Lady Frogs are headed to Storrs, Conn. to take on eight-seed Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, March 23. Game time will be announced later. TCU is the ninth seed in the East Region. The winner of the TCU/Michigan State game will take on the victor of the UConn/Boston University match-up on Tuesday, March 25.

"We'll face a very good Michigan State team," said head coach Jeff Mittie following the announcement. "The natural tendency is to look at UConn, but Michigan State is tough. This is the third year in a row for us versus a Big Ten team in the first round. I think they (the selection committee) like the marriage between us and the Big Ten."

"We've had good success against Big Ten teams in the tournament," he continued. "We're familiar with their style of play, it's more half-court. It will be a very physical battle in the first round."

The Frogs are 2-0 versus Big Ten teams in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, having defeated Penn State, 77-75, in Ruston, La. in 2001, then topping Indiana by a 55-45 count in Durham, N.C. last March. TCU is also in the East Region for the third straight year.

Tickets will be available through the TCU ticket office beginning the afternoon of Monday, March 17. Call (817) 257-FROG for more information.
