Alix named Houston Player of the Year

FORT WORTH, Texas - Incoming freshman A.J. Alix was named Houston Chronicle's Houston-Area Girls Player of the Year over the weekend.

Alix claimed player of the year accolades for a third year, while leading Bellaire High School to a 33-4 overall record and district title. Alix, who was recently named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A all-state squad, closed out her high school career scoring 41 points against Clear Springs in the 5A region semifinals. She also recently picked up Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state and all-region accolades.
