Prince Ready to Step Up
July 18, 2013
FORT WORTH, Texas - Chelsea Prince heads into her junior season looking to become a force on both ends of the court for head coach Jeff Mittie.
Prince is one of the most athletic players Mittie has ever had in his program. Noted as one of the best on-ball defenders the last two years, the Fort Worth native could see plenty of minutes in 2013-14 due to her athletic ability and explosiveness to the rim. She has a solid mid-range game and could push for extended minutes with her activeness and movement without the ball.
Prince saw action in 24 games this past season, including 13 of the 18 Big 12 contests. She played 11 minutes in the final game of the season against Kansas at the Big 12 Tournament, scoring four points on 2-of-3 shooting. Prince added three rebounds, two assists and one steal against the Jayhawks in Dallas.
