Lovings Signs Professional Contract

July 23, 2014

FORT WORTH, Texas - Former TCU women's basketball standout Latricia Lovings recently signed a professional contract to continue her basketball career in Ruse, Bulgaria.

Lovings reports on Sept. 1 to her new squad, Dunav 8806 Ruse, which has claimed three-straight Bulgarian Championships and three of the last four Bulgarian Cups.

"We are ecstatic for Latricia that she is going to be able to have this experience," TCU head coach Raegan Pebley said. "She is so deserving of this opportunity. We know she will continue to be an excellent ambassador for TCU and TCU women's basketball."

Lovings will train three to four times a week in preparation of her departure while also continuing to work at her job off of the court.

Lovings rounded out her career at TCU in 2014 as one of the program's all-time defenders, holding the school record for consecutive games with a block (69), shattering Sandora Irvin's mark.

The Fort Worth native earned All-Big 12 Defensive Team honors as a senior after leading the league and ranking third nationally for the second-straight season with 3.8 blocks per game. Lovings racked up 123 blocks on the season, ranking third all-time at TCU, while only Baylor's Brittney Griner tallied more rejections in a season in Big 12 history.

Lovings finished her career with the most blocks in the country (232) since the start of the 2012-13 season while also placing fifth in school history with 742 career rebounds.
