FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's basketball program announced its 2017-18 nonconference schedule on Monday. The Horned Frogs' 11-game schedule features seven home contests.

"This non-conference schedule is one of the tougher ones top to bottom that we have played in quite some time," head coach Raegan Pebley said. "We will have the opportunity to really challenge ourselves early this season."

TCU's schedule features six games against teams that played postseason basketball last year and eight games against teams that had winning records in 2016-17.

The Frogs open their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 11, when they host Oral Roberts at Schollmaier Arena. The Golden Eagles' 2016-17 season was highlighted by a win at Oklahoma.

TCU's first road game comes on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Dallas where the Frogs will take on SMU, a team that advanced to the third round of the WNIT last season. TCU then returns home for two straight against Texas State (Nov. 18) and Yale (Nov. 21).

The Frogs will then travel to Northridge, Calif., to play two games over their Thanksgiving break in a tournament hosted by CSUN. TCU will first play Arizona on Friday, Nov. 24, then take on either CSUN or Idaho the following day.

"We make a strong effort to take the out-of-state members of our team back home," Pebley said. "Competing in the Cal State Northridge tournament provides us an opportunity to play against great opponents while also getting Amy Okonkwo home."

TCU will host Alabama on Friday, Dec. 1, as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The Frogs played at LSU last season as part of the competition. The Crimson Tide are coming off of a season that saw them advance to the WNIT Quarterfinals.

"Continuing the Big 12/SEC Challenge is a great opportunity for us to showcase two great women's basketball conferences," Pebley said. "We are excited about our match-up against Alabama who is returning a very good team. I have great respect for Coach Kristy Curry and welcome her and her squad to TCU."

The Frogs will face a second straight SEC foe when they travel to Texas A&M on Dec. 6 and take on the Aggies for the fourth straight season.

TCU will host its final three nonconference games at Schollmaier Arena, starting with Southeastern Louisiana on Dec. 10. The Frogs will then host Northwestern State (Dec. 17) and Hampton (Dec. 20), an NCAA Tournament team last season.

The Big 12 schedule, as well as tipoff times and television info for all games, will be released in the coming weeks.

The Frogs return 10 student-athletes that saw playing time last season, plus Jayde Woods who enrolled at TCU will be eligible to play after the 2017 fall semester. TCU also welcomes two newcomers in freshman Lauren Heard and junior Dakota Vann.

TCU's 2017-18 squad has already spent plenty of time together on and off the court, posting a 4-0 record on their recent tour of Australia. Junior Jordan Moore, who posted six double-doubles last season, led the Frogs with 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in Australia. Sophomore Amber Ramirez also averaged double-figure scoring for TCU in Australia with 11.0 points per game.
