FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's basketball team completed its fourth annual Life Skills Week during the first week of school, which began Aug. 24. The purpose of the program was to prepare the Lady Frogs not only for the season, but also life off the court. The squad met with various members of different departments within the athletic department and the TCU campus.

"It's a good introduction for our newcomers to help show them what's expected in our program, both on and off the court," said Head Coach Jeff Mitte. "It's also a good reminder for the returners as they take on new leadership roles within our team."

One of the key features of the Life Skills Week was the opportunity for the team to meet professionals from TCU athletics and academics areas who will affect their lives during their college careers. Among the departments represented were Athletics Medicine, Compliance, Marketing, Media Relations and Academics.

The three-day session concluded with the team conducting a "Wacky Olympics," where four teams competed in several games that ranged from sand volleyball to wheelbarrow races.

"We had some fun with it, as we always do," Mitte said. "All-in-all, it was just a good three days that we were able to spend with the team without going through basketball-related things."

An itinerary of the Lady Frogs' week is provided below. TCU opens the 2007-08 season Nov. 1 with a 6:30 p.m. exhibition against Lake Truck Lines at Daniel-Meyer Arena.
