FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's basketball team held its first official practice in preparation for the upcoming season on Monday afternoon at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Horned Frogs will meet Southern Arkansas in an exhibition on Nov. 4 before officially kicking off the 2013-14 campaign against Louisiana-Monroe on Nov. 9.

Head coach Jeff Mittie enters his 15th season at the helm of the Frogs and looks to take his young but talented squad back to the postseason in the second year of Big 12 play.

TCU returns four starters and eight letterwinners from last season's team, including five of the top six scorers, while welcoming four talented freshmen to the mix.

"I think it's evident the girls are excited about getting on the floor and I'm excited about the continuity of it now that we've switched to 20 hours a week," said Mittie. "When you have a practice on Sunday and have to wait a week for another practice, you're not getting to see all the things you can do. That's where I think we'll really see this team grow."

Sophomore Zahna Medley looks to build on a stellar freshman campaign when she led the team in scoring (12.9 ppg) while ranking third in TCU single-season history in made 3-pointers (77) and eighth in assists (130) en route to Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors.

Junior Natalie Ventress has averaged double-figure scoring in each of her first two seasons in the Purple and White while senior Latricia Lovings returns after ranking third in NCAA with 3.6 blocks per game to go with 9.0 rebounds per contest.
