FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's basketball team opens its 41st season on Saturday when the Horned Frogs host Oral Roberts at 2 p.m. at Schollmaier Arena.

Special Events/Promos
Beginning on Saturday, all fans in attendance at TCU women's basketball this season will be allowed to move to any empty seat in the lower bowl of Schollmaier Arena after the first quarter.

1. TCU has won eight of its last 10 season openers, including all three under Raegan Pebley. The Frogs have won those three by an average margin of more than 32 points per game. The Frogs have also won 20 of their last 21 home openers.

2. TCU's roster features eight underclassmen (one freshman, seven sophomores), tying for the most in the Big 12. The Horned Frogs two seniors (Sydney Coleman, Toree Thompson) is also tied for the fewest in the conference.

3. Junior Jordan Moore enters Saturday's game with 99 career blocks, putting her on the verge of becoming just the fourth Horned Frog to ever record 100 career blocks.

Last Time Out
TCU hosted Texas Wesleyan in an exhibition game last Thursday, defeating the Lady Rams, 78-50. The Frogs scored 56 of their 78 points in the paint and outrebounded Texas Wesleyan by a 51-28 margin.

Freshman Lauren Heard led the Frogs with 16 points while also adding six rebounds and four assists. Three other Frogs scored in double figures, led by Moore's 13 points. The junior center hit 5-of-8 shots and also added a game-high eight rebounds.

Junior newcomer Dakota Vann led the Frogs with seven assists as TCU dished out 26 helpers on their 33 made baskets.

Scouting Oral Roberts
The Golden Eagles posted a 15-15 overall record and a 7-9 mark in the Summit League last season, good for a sixth place finish. ORU did have a pair of marquee nonconference wins at Oklahoma and at Arkansas.

ORU is picked to finish fourth in the Summit League Preseason Poll this season. The Golden Eagles return their top two scorers from last season in Faith Ihm and Maria Martinez, both of which are Preseason All-Summit League selections.

The Series
The series between TCU and Oral Roberts is tied 4-4, including a 2-2 mark in Fort Worth. The two last met on March 17, 2011, in the WNIT First Round with ORU winning, 78-74 in Fort Worth. In that game, TCU's Helena Sverisdottir tallied the program's third, and most recent, triple-double with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

Prior to that, the two sides hadn't played since the 1994-95 season. All seven of the meetings prior to the WNIT matchup came between 1985 and 1994.

TCU faces a road test at SMU on Tuesday. The Frogs and Mustangs will tip off at 7 p.m. at Moody Coliseum. TCU has won three straight over SMU, including a 76-67 decision last season in which the Frogs hit 15 3-pointers inside Schollmaier Arena.
