FORT WORTH, Texas - Football's Trevone Boykin and women's basketball's Zahna Medley have been named the Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for Nov. 11, TCU Athletics announced today.
Boykin, who saw action at quarterback and wide receiver on Saturday, scored all three TCU touchdowns behind center in its dramatic 21-17 win at Iowa State. He capped off his big day with a sneak up the middle on 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line with only 38 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory. He also found his way into the end zone on a three-yard scamper midway through the second quarter and got the Horned Frogs on the board 10 minutes into the game on a perfect 18-yard read-option keeper. For the day, Boykin had five rushes for 29 yards and four catches for 24.
The Horned Frogs look to stick to their winning ways next Saturday when they take on Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
Medley picked up where she left off from her solid freshman campaign in TCU's 86-47 win over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday night. She recorded her third career double-double by having game-highs of 24 points and 10 assists. That mark also included 5-of-6 shooting from behind the arc while she added a career-high five steals in the win.
TCU will take on SMU Wednesday night in Garland at Curtis Culwell Center at 7 p.m. The next home game will be a Saturday night tilt against Texas State at 7 p.m. as well.
