Anderson was outstanding in the Horned Frogs' wins over Grambling State and Tulsa on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Against the Tigers, he put together an improbable 17-point scoring streak for the Horned Frogs midway through the first half. The junior from North Crowley High School in Fort Worth ended the run in style, assisting Jarvis Ray on a thunderous dunk. Anderson finished the game with 27 points, the second-most in his career and also a season-high. TCU's 98-75 win marked its most points scored since a 102-97 overtime win over No. 11 UNLV in February 2012.
Anderson still had plenty of scoring in the tank on Saturday morning, scoring 25 in a win over Tulsa, TCU's second win this season over the Golden Hurricane. The Horned Frogs trailed by 10 with 3:05 left in the first half, and rallied to take a 70-58 victory. Anderson also hit nine of his 11 free-throws in the contest.
Hamilton was instrumental in the women's team's wins over Abilene Christian and Sam Houston State, which were by a combined 59 points. The sophomore from Spring, Texas, played just 23 minutes against ACU, but led all scorers with 18 points and recorded career-highs of six assists and five steals. She also contributed to the squad in its Friday night win over the Bearkats, scoring five points with three assists. Hamilton committed just two turnovers and shot 8-for-12 in the two contests.
Both teams will enjoy a week off for Christmas. The women play again on Saturday, hosting Prairie View A&M at 7 p.m. CST. The men will return to action Sunday, when they face Texas Southern at 1 p.m. CST.
