FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU equestrian squad (6-3) topped Sacred Heart, 19-1, at the Fieldstone Park Equestrian Facility in Mansfield on Saturday.

The Frogs swept the Pioneers in all but one event as they took home all four of the match's MVP honors.

The TCU hunt seat team notched a clean sweep over Sacred Heart as freshman Taylor Frederick led TCU in equitation over fences. Frederick earned a point for the Frogs and her second MVP title of the season after scoring an 80. Sophomore Tassie Munroe also earned a win in equitation over fences after defeating Sacred Hearts' Alyssa Woronik, 78-65.

Sophomore Jessica Hagen was titled the equitation on the flat MVP after beating the Pioneers' Alessandra Lyons, 84-63. Lauren Quiroz earned her second victory of this year's campaign after scoring a 70.5 in equitation on the flat.

In the western division, sophomore Kelly Morris took home her second win of the season after posting a 74 in horsemanship. Freshman Courtney Chown notched her second consecutive MVP title after upsetting Sacred Hearts' Alyssa Woronik, 75-61.

The TCU reining team went 5-0 as veteran Carrie von Uhlit notched her fourth consecutive MVP honor in the event after scoring a 74. Kelsey Huffman also earned a point for TCU after scoring a 72.5 in the reining event.

"We have been working really hard and it has shown these past two matches," hunt seat captain Emma Carl said. "We rode our hearts out today and I am really proud of our team."

 

 

The Frogs head to California to compete in the Best of the West Tournament Feb. 14-15. TCU is set to play Fresno State and South Dakota on Saturday and Tennessee-Martin on Sunday. Tournament results can be found on GoFrogs.com.
