STILLWATER, Okla. - No. 5 TCU closed the 2013 Big 12 Championship Saturday afternoon falling to No. 7 Baylor at the Animal Science Arena, 8-7.

With the loss, the Horned Frogs, who finished fourth overall in the final team standings, fell to 8-7 overall and will next be in action at the 2013 NCEA Championships, which will take place April 18-20 in Waco.

Trailing 6-5 going into Reining, the Frogs tried to rally late as sophomore Samantha Bayer downed Olivia Rogers, 130.5-126.5. Fellow sophomore Alexi Child tied the meet at 7-7 a few moments later, defeating Claire Edwards, but Baylor's Shelbey Jackson was able to drop sophomore Katelyn Gray on Sassy by a final score of 130-127.5 to claim the one-point victory Saturday for the Bears.

In Horsemanship, Calli Rouse opened the TCU scoring, dropping Rachel Nankervis, 142-137, while freshman Erin Gillette was also victorious, upending Parris Rice, 137.5-107. Finally, Alexie Estrada and Gray narrowly missed for the Frogs, falling to Ashley Garza and Mary Brown, respectively.

Even though the Purple and White tied Baylor in Western, 4-4, the Frogs dropped to 10-4 overall on the season by falling in the overall raw score Saturday.

On the Hunt Seat side, TCU dropped a 4-3 decision to Baylor. With the loss, the Horned Frogs moved to 9-5 on the year in the discipline.

Sophomore Demi Stiegler led the way for the Purple and White in Equitation on the Flat, downing Jenny Mitchell, 148-110. With the win, Stiegler not only improved to 11-1-2 on the year, but also remained unbeaten on the weekend in Stillwater after tying Kansas State's Meredith Finch Friday. Kaitlin Perry rounded out of the Frog scoring in the event, defeating Taylor Brown.

In Equitation over Fences, senior Haley Jacobi dropped Taylor Brown, 167-162. Stiegler appeared to have scored a point for the Frogs in the event, but battled Paige Parker to a 157-157 draw.

The Horned Frogs will resume post-season play in Waco at the 2013 NCEA Championships, beginning on April 18.
