SPRINGTOWN, Texas - No.9 TCU had its First Annual Purple & White scrimmage Saturday morning.The TCU Purple squad pulled out the victory by an overall raw score of 995.5-925.5, displaying a strong showing for the team as a whole. 

"I think that today went very well and we know what we need to work on between now and Baylor in two weeks," said TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield. "We saw a lot of really good things and am super excited for the season."

In Hunt Seat, sophomore Emily Guhde had a great showing to earn her MOP Honors with a 71-61 decision over Kate Hamel in Equitation on the Flat. In Equitation over Fences, newcomer Ashlyn Matheus posted a 70-45 victory over freshman Mackenzie Clark. She was rewarded with MOP accolades for her strong outing.

In Western, returner Erin Gillette led the way earning MOP honors in Horsemanship with a strong 72 amongst a well-rounded Horsemanship team. Shelby St. Hilaire had a great first outing in Reining, scoring 73.5-64 over Western standout Chantz Stewart to earn her first MOP honor as a Horned Frog.

The Frogs will open regular season play at home Saturday, Oct 5, against Baylor. Start time is set for 11 a.m. CT.
