Stiegler Selected for Collegiate Equitation Challenge

FORT WORTH, Texas- Sophomore Demi Stiegler was recently selected to participate at the Fourth Annual Collegiate Equitation Challenge in Wellington, Fla.

Stiegler, a California native, is 5-0 this season in Equitation on the Flat, including 3-0 in conference action. She has also collected two MOP's in Equitation over Fences, while going 3-2 on the year. Stiegler was recently named Big 12 Rider of the Month for November.  

The meet, which is held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center and will begin on Friday, Feb. 8, will be conducted utilizing the NCEA head-to-head bracketed format with the 16 top collegiate riders from across the country. Participating riders will compete over an equitation course that features heights up to three feet, six inches.

Competition is slated to begin at 1 p.m. CT, with the preliminary round, which includes each of the 16 riders. The eight winners qualify for the finals to be held in the evening session at 6 p.m. CT, while the remaining eight horses will contest a consolation bracket immediately following the preliminary round.

The TCU Western program will next be in action against Baylor at the Fort Worth Stock Show on Friday, Feb. 8. Competition is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. CT from John Justin Arena.
