FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU Hunt Seat head coach Logan Fiorentino announced the addition of Jordan Appel to the equestrian program Friday morning.

"Jordan is a great addition to the TCU equestrian team," said Fiorentino. "She has a lot of experience riding different horses and that should translate well to our format. It's great to be able to find such talent in the state of Texas. She is an exceptional student and I'm excited to have her on the team this fall."

Appel, a Plano native, comes to Fort Worth after graduating from Spring Creek Academy. During her young career, Appel has earned multiple honors in Grand Prixs and High JR/AO classes. She recently won the Thanksgiving Prix in Waco, while claiming runner-up accolades in the $25,000 Winter Series II Grand Prix. In all, she was the youngest competitor in the prestigious competition, which was held in Katy, Texas, and was the only rider to have a clear round.

Appel, who is trained by Christian Heineking, will don the Purple and White this fall after competing in the North American Junior Young Rider Championships, while also claiming top-12 accolades at the first Grand Prix in 2010.
